Our Trapezoid-Shaped Rococo Handbag is made from recycled Huipils (pronounced Wee-peel), the Spanish term for the traditional blouse worn by Mayan women in Guatemala. Huipils are the most significant part of a Mayan woman’s costume, and to the knowledgeable observer it identifies a woman’s village, social and marital status, religious background, wealth, and individual personality.
